Challenge
Helping Pennsylvanians find and explore more than 300 years of Pennsylvania history is the aim of the PA Historical and Museum Commission. Though their successful "Trails of History" website helped tourists choose historical attractions to visit, it was not mobile-friendly. That's where JPL comes in.
Solution
To help users find how close they are to historical sites, JPL leveraged geolocation technology on the newly designed mobile version. Accessible from any smart phone, the site helps route travelers to nearby attractions with all of the visitor info they'd need. Planning trips and connecting with friends through social media is now simple, easy, and cool. And to keep the info fresh, JPL developed an application so the Commission can easily update the site with the latest news, events, schedule changes and special promos.
