Harrisburg University received two higher education marketing awards for work created with JPL.
The Communications Professionals from Colleges & Universities (CUPRAP) honored Harrisburg University with a Gold CUPPIE in the category of Interactive Media for a projection mapping display in the campus lobby. The exhibit tells the University’s story and engages prospective students and other visitors in a unique way.
The exhibit includes audio, video and animation projected on a 3-D structure. JPL team members worked with the University to teach the art and science of projection mapping to students so they can evolve the content in the future.
With the advent of new video projection technology, projection mapping has become easier to achieve on a smaller scale. “There aren’t many permanent projection map installations in our area so we’re excited to bring this new technology and art form to Harrisburg,” said JPL Motion Graphics Designer Josh Miller.
“We are thrilled to be able to tell our story in a way that leverages new technology since Harrisburg University focuses on teaching STEM-focused curriculum and cutting-edge technology, like projection mapping,” said Steve Infanti, associate vice-president, Harrisburg University.
Harrisburg University also won a bronze Educational Advertising Award (EdAd Award) for the television commercial produced by JPL, “Unearthing Potential.”
The 33rd Annual Educational Advertising Awards, sponsored by Higher Education Marketing Report, is the largest, oldest and most respected educational advertising awards competition in the country.
