JPL team members have a lot to celebrate as the company was recently named to the Best Places to Work in PA list for the 15th consecutive year. JPL is one of only two companies in the state to be chosen that many years in a row.

“Even though this is our 15th year, we never take this recognition for granted,” said JPL President Luke Kempski. “Continuing to improve as an employer and as a workplace is key to accomplishing our strategic business goals,” he added.

“We’ll use the Best Places employee survey results as a central piece of our offsite management development meeting this year to continue to improve the culture and work environment for our team members and recruit the top talent needed to be a leading integrated marketing and communications company,” said Melissa Washington, JPL human resources director.


The awards program, created in 2000, is one of the first statewide programs of its kind in the country. The program is a public/private partnership between Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management, and the Central Penn Business Journal.

A survey is sent to employers and employees from hundreds of companies in the Commonwealth. Using a formula similar to Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work for in America,” the Best Companies Group scores the workplace practices survey along with the employee survey and each candidate firm is given an overall score. Final rankings will be awarded and honored at the Best Places to Work in PA awards ceremony on December 1, 2016 at the Lancaster County Convention Center in Lancaster, PA.
