JPL summer interns recently developed a marketing program to help the Greater Harrisburg Area Autism Society reach families in need of their services.

“The public service announcement and marketing plan created by the JPL interns has taken our communications efforts to a whole new level,” said Sherry Christian, immediate past president of the Greater Harrisburg Autism Society. “Because of their creative and strategic thinking, we will be able to reach many more people affected by autism throughout the twelve counties we serve,” she added.

The interns involved in this year’s program included Randy Rock, a digital cinematography student at Full Sail University; Lethia McFarland, an integrated marketing communications student at Ithaca College; and Justin Venters, a Learning Technologies graduate student at Harrisburg University.

For more than 16 years, JPL has provided students with hands-on experience while offering pro- bono communications solutions to local nonprofits. Area non-profits may apply to the JPL Intern Program to be considered for future projects.
