JPL team members raised more than $1,500 this past weekend at the annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake to help Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region. Funds will support the efforts of Big Brothers Big Sisters to match children with mentors in community and school-based programs.

JPL team members joined other organizations from around the region at Red Crown Bowling Center in Harrisburg to have fun and raise money. JPL collected donations through a mustache contest, raffle tickets, candy sales, and trivia contests.

Big Brothers Big Sisters aims to build sustainable one-to-one mentoring relationships. According to Big Brothers Big Sisters, children who have a Big Brother or Sister do better in school, get along better with peers and adults, are less likely to skip school or initiate drug or alcohol use, and are less likely to hit others than their peers who do not have mentors.
